Donkey Society of Victoria

Donkeys are excellent companion animals. They make ideal mounts for children, and adults can enjoy riding the larger donkeys. They are good to drive in carts, can be used to carry packs or firewood and are happy to give rides to children at fetes, or show themselves off in street parades. In fact most donkeys will do just about anything reasonable for someone they like.

Affiliated Donkey Societies of Australia

The DSV is affiliated with donkey societies in most other states. The Affiliated Donkey Societies jointly maintain a register of donkeys and publish a magazine, Donkey Digest, quarterly.

There is no donkey society in Tasmania. Donkey owners in that state can join the DSV.

The links below go to websites established by the other affiliated societies.

The Donkey Society of Queensland

The Donkey Society of New South Wales

The Donkey and Mule Society of South Australia

The Donkey Society of Western Australia

There are links to other donkey societies and sites on the Donkey Info page.

Donkeys Victoria, donkey.org.au, is the official website of the Donkey Society of Victoria. Its purpose is both to promote the DSV and to provide a rich resource for donkeys in Australia`.
